Trendy Twine Guest Designer

HELLO and Happy New Years Eve Eve! I'm excited to share with you a project I made for Trendy Twine. When they asked me to be a guest designer I was so excited and I accepted immediately!!! I absolutely LOVE this twine and the colors that are available are fun and unique.

With New Years right around the corner, I decided to make some party poppers. And since I am expecting my own baby new year I decided to use the Blue Berry and Strawberry Cupcake Trendy twine for a theme of Pink and Blue. My family will have fun opening up these poppers to find Happy New Year necklaces and Hershey Kisses for a midnight treat.

For the pink popper I used a half of a toilet paper roll, pink shimmer tissue paper, Blue Berry twine, My Creative Time's: fancy label die and the "Cheers" stamp from the Small Talk stamp set, Peachy Keen's New Years Faces stamp and Stickles.

For the blue popper I used a half of a toilet paper roll, blue glitter tissue paper, Strawberry Cupcake twine, My Creative Time's: fancy label die and the "Happy New Year" stamp from the Small Talk stamp set, Peachy Keen stamps and Stickles.

I hope you enjoyed my New Years project today. Please stop by Trendy Twines blog to see all the amazing projects they have there. Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you have a fantastic day!

Advent Activity Calendar

Welcome to the First day of December and the official start to the Holidays, at least for my family!
This year to kick off the season I decided to make an advent calendar; however, since I have 3 children and I didn't want them fighting over the sweet treat for each day, I made our calendar an activity based project. I found a few examples on Pinterest and then came up with the following list of things to do with the kiddos.

List of Festive Family Activities:

Decorate for Christmas
Write a letter to Santa
Take a Family Christmas picture
Read a Christmas Story at bedtime
Do something nice for a sibling
Make paper snowflakes
Sing Christmas songs all day
Donate toy you don’t play with anymore
Make a craft with Mom
Cook dinner together as a family
Family Christmas movie night
Make snowman soup
Make Christmas cards for your Grandparents
Eat Dessert first at dinnertime
Spread holiday cheer to friends
Make a gift for someone special
Bake and Decorate cookies
Color Christmas pictures
Have a campout by the Christmas tree
Have lunch somewhere special
See some snow with family
Drive around and look at Holiday lights
Sing and dance to Christmas Carols
Wear new Christmas pajamas to bed
Spend the day with family, Merry Christmas!!

I then made 25 envelopes, matting them and adding a date label.

I then made a box to hold all the envelopes and decorated it with coordinating supplies.

The daily cards followed next with their own matting but these are not dated so they can be mixed up or change over the years if need be.

I am so very happy with how this project turned out. It's going to be fun to see how the kids react to the daily activities we have planned. Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!

Thank you Teachers!

If you are looking for the Die Cuttin Divas challenge post please click  HERE.

"Thank you for helping me become such a SMARTIE"

There is nothing better than hearing from your childrens' teachers that they enjoying having your child in the classroom and that they are outstanding students!

Yesterday was the end of the first trimester and at parent teacher conferences my husband and I received this awesome news. Both of my girls are performing at and above their grade levels and the teachers adore having them in their classes. Well, I was over the moon!!! We normally don't reward our children for grades because they should always do their best at school no matter what; however, we were so proud of them and all the hard work they do (for 1st and 2nd graders) that we treated the girls to a toy at Target.

Then I stayed up late last night making these thank you treat bags for the teachers and aids. I found the idea on Pinterest. Originally it was an end of the year gift idea but why not use it for Thanksgiving to thank all those special teachers who help my children be the best they can be.

Project recipe:
3 Birds on Parade Cricut cartridge - Pilgrim bird cut at 3"
My Creative Time - Gift Card Holder die
Trendy Twine - Orange Truffle twine
Divine twine - Orange and White twine
Fall leaves pattern paper
Cello treat bag and SMARTIES

I hope the teachers enjoy their little treats and that they have a very Happy Thanksgiving. This Momma is thankful for each and every one of them.

My Creative Time - Design Team Call!

I am so excited to be able to enter a project for Emma's very first "My Creative Time's Design Team Call!!!"  It would really be an honor to serve on Emma's team, creating fun new projects with her stamps and getting to know all of her fans that much better through her blog hops and challenges. I wish everyone the best of luck and to Miss Emma - I know you have a difficult job ahead of you so THANK YOU for giving us all the chance.

For this Design Team Call, Emma is requesting the following:

1. Should you be chosen as a member of my DT, you not join or currently be serving as a Design Team member for any other "Sentiment-Based" stamp companies during your term. Thanks so much for understanding!
2. Also, you would need to have a blog to participate!
3. Please create ONE project for this call. It can either be a card, layout, home decor item or a 3-D item! 4. It would be nice to see my stamps used in your projects, but if you do NOT own any, please feel free to use what you have!

It would be a 3 month term, you will be required to do 1 to 2 blog hops a month & complete approx 8 (this is including sneak peek week) projects a month!

So without further ado here is my home decor project.

My Family's Birthday calendar

Project Recipe:
My Creative Time Products:
My Gypsy
Cork bulletin board
Rainbow sheer ribbon - Ruffled
Black sheer ribbon for the hanger
SU and CTMH Inks
Hot glue and silver push pins

I created this label using my Gypsy, customizing the label size and welding the two phrases into one project title.

Each Month of the calendar is stamped using 1 of Emma's 5 XL Label borders - I love how different each one is and how it coordinates with the theme for each month.

On each calendar I marked the dates for every member in my family and on the back I wrote whose birthdays are on the dates marked on the front. The current month can then be displayed showing who's birthday is coming up and when it is.

On the border of the cork board I decided to add sheer rainbow ribbon that I ruffled using my sewing machine. On top of the ribbon I added Emma's scalloped and stitched circles with 6 different stamped sentiments and images.

I just love these new stamp sets - they're perfect for EVERY birthday in my family and all the other occasions throughout the year. This was a very fun project to make and has inspired more projects for the up coming holidays. Thank you for stopping by my blog and again good luck to all the entrants at My Creative Time.

Have a great day!
~Yvonne
