ME? Well, My name is Yvonne and I am a SAHM to FOUR beautiful, energetic, wild, lovable, crazy and amazing children. I am married to my best friend and the Love of my life. And I have a creative side that needed an outlet so I started this blog to share my creations with all of you. One day my oldest daughter, all of 6 years old, looked at me while I was crafting and said "you sure are One Creative Momma" and the name for my blog was born.

Baby Booties

My First Pair!

I made these baby booties for an upcoming baby shower. I have never made them before and found that practice makes perfect.
My first attempt was ok but when I started on the second I knew I'd have to make a third because the first one was way too big. I'm kicking around the idea of adding a ribbon but for now I'm happy that these even turned out as cute as they did.

It's A GIRL!

Karlee's MPS
5 Million Challenge

The challenge was to create something with an envelope.
I decided to make these cute little favor place cards for a baby shower. I used Just Because Cards for the envelope, New Arrival for the baby outfit and a few strips of paper for an easel base. Add a ribbon, a rhinestone, a couple flowers and a few homemade chocolates when the date draws near and I'm all set.

Bling it up!

It's time to get your bling on - but remember, no glitter! Stickles is okay - as well as gems, pearls, etc. Papers with the glitter embedded/sealed in are also okay - just make sure no glitter rubs off the card. Any theme card is okay, just make it shine with some bling!

FB Birthday Bash! Challenge #4:

Oh baby!

For this next challenge, make a card that a hero can send to an wee one - the child won't be able to read it of course, but will someday treasure having a note from Mommy or Daddy while they were away!

Kindergarten Class Pet

Casey the Caterpillar

My Daughter brought home the Kindergarten class pet last weekend. We were instructed to scrapbook what we did with her which was fun because we had a very busy weekend.

Friday my daughter had her Kindergarten Check up - So Casey joined us and hugged her while she got her shots. :(

Then on Sunday my Daughter had her 5th Birthday party with all her friends and family. While the kids swam in our pool and jumped in the bounce house, Casey guarded all of the Birthday presents and posed for a few pictures.

Everyone had a great time and my daughter was sad to see Casey return to her class room on Monday.

What's for Breakfast?

Aebleskivers

When I was a very little girl I remember my Mother making these yummy Aebleskivers for breakfast. She would top them with powedered sugar, raspberry or strawberry jam or sometimes just pancake suryp. Now that I'm a Mom I make them for my children and they love to watch me make them in the traditional pan and can't eat them fast enough.

What are Aebleskivers you ask?
They are traditional Danish pancakes in a distinctive shape of a sphere. Somewhat similar in texture to American pancakes, in that they are solid but crossed with a popover because they are light and fluffy. They are cooked on the stove top by baking in a special pan with several hemi-spherical indentations in the bottom of the pan. Halfway through the cooking process the Aebleskivers are then rotated to create the sphere shape. (The pictures that follow will help demonstrate this.)

Serve Aebleskivers within 5 mins from the stovetop with Raspberry or Strawberry jam or maple syrup and a sprinkling of powdered sugar and Enjoy

My breakfast today!

OWH - September 4th challenge

Continuing my fall holiday theme, I created this card for todays OWH challenge. The only requirement was to use Googly eyes which I used on my spider and I think they make him look a little dizzy. :o)

I've been posting a lot of Challenge cards lately because we were asked to make a card a day during the month of September in celebration of OWH's 2nd Birthday.

I'm having a lot of fun crafting everyday!

OWH - CASE Challenge

OWH Inspiration

These cards were inspired by the featured cardmaker of the week over on the OWH Stars & Stamps blog.

In her interview, Kate mentioned that one of her favorite techniques was the Dahlia Flower fold. So I watched her tutorial then tried the flower fold out for myself. I wanted the flower to have a little dimension so I used scallop circles but soon found out that the 8 pieces I cut weren't going to be enough. Therefore, I added the leaves. I'll have to do a little more experimenting to see if I can get it just right.

Recipe:

4x6 Brown cards
Scallop circles & Leaves cut at 1 3/4"
from double sided cardstock
Hero Arts "Thinking of you" stamps
Close to My Heart ink in Topiary
